Amazon has come out with its latest version of the e-reader (Kindle family of tech), the Oasis.
This one is the first waterproof iteration, and it has the just-like-paper reading quality of the Kindle Paperwhite. It’s also just a touch bigger display than the rest of the Kindles, and it still has audio capability. The battery life is still weeks long, so you can take it on vacation without bringing a charger.
Even if you don’t have any tropical getaways planned for awhile, the Oasis can be dropped in hot water, so you can read in the bath or the hot tub just like the pool or ocean.
WHAT’S TRENDY: Puffers are everywhere this season, but it’s not just the athleisure look that’s been around forever.
Tatras is selling a flared puffer coat that hits all the way down at the knee and has down filling. It really brings an element of elegance to the traditional puffer look.
Another “fancy” puffer is the MSGM textured puffer, which comes in a vivid cobalt and has a soft velvet feel that brings the puffer up enough for even formal occasions (without sacrificing warmth).
If you really want to swing for the fences by making a puffer statement, however, you’ve got no better option than the fabulous paisley and satin puffer coat from Roberto Cavalli. It has gold snaps and a gorgeous snake-detail belt buckle that adds that extra detail to make it a truly remarkable piece.
WHAT’S AFFORDABLE: If you haven’t got a good Christmas concert on your schedule for this season, look no further than the John Berry Christmas performance at 7 p.m. Dec. 21 at the Imperial Theater. This fantastic country music singer and songwriter will be performing an entire show of Christmas classics, and the Imperial Theater is such an amazing venue to hear them.
Tickets start at just around $20, and you can add on a special VIP experience package for just $20 more. This starts one hour before the show, and you’ll get amazing access and interaction with Berry as well as an exclusive acoustic performance, Q&A session and photo opportunity.
