WHAT’S NEW: I’m heartbroken that Whole Foods was not a successful addition to the Augusta grocery store market, and will miss every part of that store – from bulk grains to the hot bar.
However, a Sprouts grocery store is coming to Augusta, and I think if you loved Whole Foods, you’ll definitely enjoy Sprouts.
There are several Sprouts in the Atlanta area, and it’s kind of a more bare-bones Whole Foods, with less emphasis on prepared foods and more emphasis on truly healthy products and high quality, fresh produce. Their house brand is really phenomenal, and the prices are great. The Sprouts in Augusta is proposed to go in a new shopping center located at the abutment of Walton Way Extension and I-20.
WHAT’S TRENDY: Hairstylist to the stars Jen Atkin has had her hair care line, Ouai, out and about for some time but just recently I noticed it’s come to the Augusta area.
Ouai products are made from natural ingredients and smell so fantastic it kind of makes perfume irrelevant – all this in addition to making your hair literally perfect.
I have tried out just about every product in the line, and I can’t decide which one is my favorite because I love them all. Whether it’s the finishing creme that smoothes out every flyaway or the dry shampoo mousse, they’re all foolproof and create a natural, finished look that flatters anyone. Find them at Sephora or at www.theOuai.com.
WHAT’S AFFORDABLE: Tax preparation has become so automated that it can be extremely confusing if you’re not someone familiar with web forms and computers.
AARP is trying to help anyone who isn’t accustomed to doing taxes online and on their own by hosting free tax preparation at the Kroc Center during tax season. This isn’t just for senior citizens; it’s open to anyone. Just stop by the Kroc Center any Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday through April 18 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
