Madewell recently released a line of jeans they’re calling “Magic pockets jeans,” designed to hold you in and create a slim shape without any added bulk or suffocation.
They call it “holds-you-in sorcery” but really it’s just reinforced denim in the front behind the pockets. These new jeans come in a variety of styles and washes, from skinny to wide leg and dark wash to white, so there’s something for everyone. You can find the entire selection at Madewell.com or in store.
WHAT’S TRENDY: Political activism is all the rage, and while it’s a great idea to be involved and let your elected officials know your stance on the issues, it can be daunting to send a letter or communicate with a member of Congress.
Enter MyLetter, an app that formats your letter in the appropriate style, gives you a variety of issues to select and then asks you which position best describes your own.
You then review your letter, and for only $2, the app prints and mails your letter to the appropriate officials, and you’ve done your duty without having buy stamps or search for the right address. Find MyLetter in app stores and online at MyLetter.to.
WHAT’S AFFORDABLE: The Augusta Literary Festival is March 4 and it’s a fantastic way to learn more about local authors while supporting their work and the arts community in general.
The festival includes author panel discussions, book signings and writing workshops, including for kids. More than 30 local authors are registered to participate, and you can find more information at AugustaLiterary Festival.org. The festival works in tandem with the Augusta-Richmond County public library system.
