MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. --- USC Aiken took the lead 21 minutes in and never relinquished it, defeating host Mount Olive 93-80 to win the 43rd Annual Pickle Classic.
It was the first Pickle Classic loss for the Trojans since 2000.
Chris Commons and Kingsley Oguchi led the Pacers (3-0) with 20 points apiece. Commons was 8-for-16 from the floor, missing his only 3-point attempt, while Oguchi shot 6-for-7 from behind the arc.
Kendrick Easley scored a game-high 25 points for Mount Olive (1-3).
The Pacers led by as many as 14 in the first half en route to a 38-28 halftime advantage. They maintained a double-digit lead throughout much of the second half.
USC Aiken committed only nine turnovers while forcing 17. The Pacers shot 47.4 percent on 3-pointers.
Cordaryl Ballard had 18 points for USC Aiken. Javonte Clanton added 14 points, while Josh Dollard scored 11.
In addition to his 20 points, Commons secured eight rebounds and had two steals.
CLAFLIN 83, PAINE 63
In Orangeburg, S.C., a considerable rebounding deficit was too much for Paine to overcome, as the Lions lost to Claflin.
Joshua Adams had a game-high 22 points on 8-for-10 shooting for Paine (0-1), which pulled down 27 rebounds to Claflin's 52.
Paine trailed 43-24 at the break.
The Panthers (1-0) were led by Phillip Brown, who scored 19 points to lead four Claflin players in double figures. Karl Ray added 10 points and 12 rebounds.

In Orangeburg, S.C., Paine couldn't recover from a tough first half of shooting, dropping its season opener to Claflin.
The Lady Lions (0-1) made just six field goals in the first half, shooting 21.4 percent. The result was a 39-20 halftime lead for the Pantherettes (1-0).
Paine had plenty of chances at the free-throw line, but made just 18 of 39 attempts.
Brittany Pevey led the Lady Lions with 15 points and nine rebounds. LaShawanda Sanders scored 12 points, and Natoria Rowland added 10.
