The North Augusta Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual community and business expo under a new name and at a new location.
Growthfest 2017 will be Oct. 17 at locations throughout the North Augusta Municipal Center, to provide resources for business professionals, companies and individual community members. The intent is to build upon past business expos, and to show the Chamber adapting as the community changes.
A traditional business exposition will be held as in previous years. The expo will include 38 atrium booths and 36 ballroom booths for a total of 74 participating businesses.
In addition to the traditional business expo, the Chamber is adding:
Headshot Lounge: A photo booth will be available to provide headshots for our business professionals. Headshots will be purchased directly with the Headshot Lounge vendor for $10.
Connections Lounge: This is intended to provide a relaxed setting in which employers can give two-minute employer pitches to potential employees – a “why you want to work with us/what we do/what our company needs” type of elevator pitch. Also offered in the lounge will be slots in which individual professionals can give 90-second elevator pitches to potential employers. The individual pitches will be provided with professional feedback from four to six hiring professionals.
Business After Hours: The gathering is open to the public and will be held immediately after the business expo. The actual After Hours event will be on the terrace of the Municipal Building. Subtitled “A Savoring of North Augusta,” the event will feature Augusta-area caterers providing samples of some of their offerings. Business professionals can network while being able to sample potential caterers for yearly and holiday events. A cash bar will be available.
Expo booths still are available for purchase at the Chamber member pricing of $175, and $250 for nonmembers. Slots in the Connections Lounge also are available as well – at $25 per employer and $20 per employee. Connections Lounge Employee Pitches also can be purchased through EventBrite, online at Growthfest2017.eventbrite.com.
Regarding potential parking overflow issues, the nearby MEDAC parking structure and street parking will be available.
