Tiffany Reed (left) and Jami Smith, retail training store managers with Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA, accepted Goodwill International’s 2017 Retail Mission Support Award during the Goodwill Summer Conference Aug. 2 in Charlotte, N.C. Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA received the stewardship award for the fourth year in a row, recognizing that Goodwill’s cost-efficient operation returns the greatest share of revenue from retail sales of donated goods to fund Goodwill’s job training, education and career development services, including Helms College.
SPECIAL Joseph Cadavos (from left), Mike Lockaby and Joey Turner of Augusta Technical College’s Aviation Maintenance Technology Training Center stand in front of a CFM56-3B1 high-bypass turbofan aircraft engine, donated to Augusta Tech recently by Southwest Airlines. The engine is worth about $100,000. The donation is expected to further Augusta Tech’s ability to train its aviation maintenance students.
