Columbia County Public Transit Division

Award/honor: Has received the 2016 Frank J. Hill Award for Outstanding Customer Service from the Georgia Department of Transportation for achievements in service and operational efficiency. The division was chosen over 120 other rural transportation services in the state.

Aiken Technical College

Award/honor: Has been listed among the top 24 career and technical colleges in the country in the Military Times 2017 Best for Vets list. The College has also been named a 2017 Military Friendly college by Victory Media, a designation it has received for six consecutive years.

Richmond County GIS Office

Award/honor: Has received a SAG Award from geographic information system provider Esri for innovation for its creation of a Master Roads and Address Database, a CityWorks Software Consolidation Deployment Plan and Citizen Engagement Mobile and Web Mapping solution.

Bailey Place/ Bailey Village

Award/honor: The two-phase, 35-house apartment development was honored for its urban design by the Washington, D.C. chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The Wrightsboro Road development was designed by Suzane Reatig Architecture and is owned by The United House of Prayer for All People.

Trinity Hospital

Award/Honor: The hospital on Nov. 15 honored employees for service anniversaries ranging from 5 years to 45 years. The following employees were recognized for 25 or more years of service: Jackie Cliatt, Jeff Synan and Linda Blum, 45 years; Johanna Hodge, Beatrice Gilchrist, Maxine Washington, Cecile Praitano and Martha Lappe, 35 years; Cynthia Smith, Patricia Lewis, Ann Jarrett, Elizabeth Cibak, Maria Graves, Teresa Gant and Gail Mullan, 30 years; and Elizabeth Doggett, Barbara Pague, Karoly Totka, Atheia Turner and Sharon Wallace, 25 years.
