Augusta-based Web site design and software company PowerServe announced it has acquired 7th Street Media from Morris Communications Co. LLC.
Financial terms of the deal, which includes more than 100 Web site clients, was not disclosed. PowerServe said the sale closed March 1.
"The deal makes sense for both companies and our clients. We were looking to grow the Web design and hosting aspect of our business, and Morris Communication had already decided to phase out 7th Street Media," PowerServe President Jeff Partl said in a statement issued Monday.
7th Street Media customers are primarily local small businesses but there are clients throughout the United States.
PowerServe, founded in 1998, has more than 350 customers and employs 15 analysts, graphic designers and programmers.
Morris Communications owns The Augusta Chronicle.
