So as much as we all hate to think about it, school is only a couple of weeks away. Now, as depressing as this fact might be, it does have a bright side. That's right: school supply shopping! Because, really, who doesn't love a new binder?

The school supply sales are upon us, and I am psyched. As a senior, this will be my last hurrah, so to speak, in those dear old Staples aisles. Now, a lot of people may not be quite as excited about this event, but let me explain to you why you should look forward to this every year.

There's plenty of fun things to do before school stars  like the Fashion Show down at The Enterprise Event Center hosted by the Vintage Ooollee and Modish Salon tonight at 9:00! You could also go to an Augusta Greenjackets Baseball game. It's a great place to spend time with friends in a fun environment. Augusta State Univeristy also has a few performances going on this summer that are sure to be enjoyable. There is always something going on downtown, so if these ideas don't interest you then keep an eye out for events happening downtown.

In these 16 years of living I have surely learned this: There is NOTHING like a barbecue with the family in Philly or a crazy game of Taboo in the living room of your aunt's in Florence. Trust me, I know.

This is the 38th blog, for the 38th day of summer.

I had the opportunity to travel to Alexandria, La., with some youth in my church for a Catholic Steubenville youth conference last weekend. While the 14 hours on a bus trip through the night was long and sleepless, I had a great experience at the conference.

The days were so packed with things to do, there was no chance for any of us to go and rest in the school classroom we were camping out in. We were frequently listening to live music, listening to speakers give talks, and praying.

During our track practices and meets last season, I barely used any sunscreen which is why when the season ended I was at least 2 shades darker than when it started.

Tired of catching sight of boys' boxers or girls' rear ends every time they bend over to put away books? Everyone giggles and turns away, but no one attempts to fix this problem. Although today's teens find low rise pants flattering, fashion experts speculate that these styles will soon be extinct, along with skinny jeans and jeggings. A vintage jean style, contrary to these excessively tight or loose jeans, will make an appearance.
