- Placed left-handed reliever Nate Robertson on the 15-day disabled list and called up left-hander Luke French from Triple-A Toledo.

RANGERS: Closer Frank Francisco played catch from about 60 feet Thursday, and will have another throwing session before getting back on a mound. He hasn't pitched since May 6 because of right biceps tendinitis.

YANKEES: Derek Jeter and Hideki Matsui returned to the lineup for Thursday's series finale against the Blue Jays after recovering from injuries.

Jeter, the Yankees shortstop and captain, batted leadoff. Matsui was penciled in the No. 5 slot as the designated hitter.

SCORING CHANGE: The league has overturned a scoring decision from last Friday's game between the Angels and Royals, ruling Los Angeles' Howie Kendrick reached on an error instead of an inside-the-park homer.

The decision took away two earned runs from Royals starter Gil Meche , dropping his ERA to 4.01.
