Natalya Neidhart, daughter of superstar wrestler Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, will come to Augusta on Saturday, June 2, ready to knock down, tap out and reclaim her title as the Diva of WWE.
The event at James Brown Arena will include The Big Show, Daniel Bryan and many other wrestlers competing for the Heavyweight, Intercontinental and Diva titles.
“I know anything can happen in the ring,” Neidhart said. “But when I get into the ring, the only thing that is on my mind is beating my opponent.”
Because Neidhart is a third-generation wrestler, her childhood was far from the normal. Not only was her father a wrestler,
but she comes from a Canadian family of many wrestlers, including her uncle, Bret Hart, and grandfather, Stu Hart.
“I enjoyed my childhood,” she said. “Being around wrestling all the time was always exciting for me, and I grew to love it over time.”
Though Neidhart comes from a long line of champions inside the ring, she enjoys being a Diva wrestler because she is a champion outside the ring, too.
“We not only get to compete for titles, but WWE wrestlers also do charity work,” she said. “We work with Make-A-Wish Foundation, and also go perform for the troops in Iraq. We get to see all walks of life, and it’s very touching.”
Being the daughter of “The Anvil” is an honor; however, Neidhart loves the fact that she has made a name for herself through hard work and dedication.
“I love the fact that I’m making history, but my family didn’t make me who I am today,” she said. “What I do is a dream fulfilled. Everything I’ve earned is on my own.”
