WHAT YOU DID HERE: Cop beat reporter for about three months; then moved to education beat for about two years

WHAT YOU DO NOW: Publisher, Augusta Magazine, Augusta Family Magazine

FAVORITE CHRONICLE REMEMBRANCE: We did a weekly feature in the Augusta Herald called Our Page, which focused on children and happenings in the schools. Mary Braswell, then a teacher at Windsor Spring Elementary School, called and asked me to come out and see part of her initiative with Sid Mullis to get "ag in the classroom."

She had a piglet, rather large, in a bathtub in her classroom. It was hilarious.

Those children loved that pig and learned all about it. When the pig was agitated by the photographer's flash, the class sang Lean on Me to help soothe it.
