The North Augusta Cultural Arts Council will sponsor its fourth annual Veterans Concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Grace United Methodist Church's Wesley Center.
"It is always a great concert and a good family activity," said Andrea Usry of the North Augusta Cultural Arts Council.
Savannah River Winds, under the direction of Richard Brasco, will play patriotic selections.
A highlight of the concert is the playing of each military branch's song. "Some of the older veterans come in their uniforms and stand when their branch (song) is played."
Terry Sams will read the Gettysburg Address, accompanied by music.
Another moving part of the program is the reading of the names of veterans and those currently on active duty. For a $10 donation, which will be given to the CSRA Wounded Warrior Care Project, a name is added to the roll.
"This is a good chance to rally behind our troops, those who've sacrificed so much," Ms. Usry said.
The deadline to be included on the roll is Nov. 3.
Contribution forms are available at www.naartscouncil.org and should be mailed to NACAC, P.O. Box 6415, North Augusta, SC 29861.
